Abstract
Borrowing words are the words that are adopted from other languages that some ordinary people cannot understand. There are some types of borrowing words such as; loan word, loan translation, loan blend and semantic loan. This study used a qualitative approach because the data was collected in the form of words taken from several articles in SWA magazine and was analyzed in the form of essays. The theory used in this study is the theory of Durkin (2014) about the types of borrowing words and supported by George Yule (2010) regarding the discussion of linguistic theory. From the data analysis, it was found 45 data, including; 35 loan words, 4 loan translations, and 6 loan blends. Moreover, based on the data finding, the writer concluded that there are many changes found in the types of borrowing, and loan word is the most dominant types used in the SWA Magazine.
