Abstract

The title of this study is “Potrayal of repression in We Need to Talk About Kevin By Lionel Shriver”. This study aims to identify how a child suffering repression in childhood from his mother, and how it can affect to his adulthood and leaves a trauma. From the data analysis it was found that the main character has a repression because he is lack of attention and sincere affection from his mother. The outcome of the this research has a result that the main character murder eleven people include his father and sister because of he repressed his repression until he adulthood. In psychoanalysis, it can be called as repression.
