Abstract

The study aims to determine the type, form and function of code mixing in the speak of the Novel Islah Cinta by Dini Fitria. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Based on data analysis, there are code mixing events in dialogue between characters, namely 140 data. Types of mixed outside (English, Hind, Spanis), and code in (Javanese, Batak language, Minang language). The code mixed from has five intertions in the form of words, phrases, repetition of words, clauses and sentence. The function of code mixing includes (1) because it respects, (2) because of the need vocabulary, (3) because it wants to find the easiest way to convy an intention, (4) discuses a particular topic (5) shows learning, (6) reinforce something, and (7) refine speech. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the dominat typr of code mix prescisely in English, which is 120 data: The more dominant form of code mixing in the form of pharses inti 50 data: and the most dominant function of code mixing is to emphasize, which is 57 data.
