Abstract

The main objective of this study is to analyze the translation strategies in translating English slang languages found in TV Series Hannah Montana Season 2 from English into Indonesian. In this study, the writer used descriptive qualitative method. In analyzing the translation strategies, the writer used the theory from Gottlieb. From the data analysis, it was found that nine of ten translation strategies from Gottlieb were used in translating slang language in TV Series Hannah Montana Season 2. The author watched the TV Series from the original DVD produced by Walt Disney Picture and identifies and analyzes translation strategies used in translating slang in TV Series Hannah Montana Season 2.
