Abstract

This study discusses the representation of the Beauty Myth in Uglies novel. That focuses on feminism issue. The purpose of this study is to analyze the Work, Culture, Hunger and Violence that are depicted by collecting the dialogues and the narratives from the characters in the novel to reach their main goals. The theory used in this study is Beauty Myth theory by Naomi Wolf such as Work, Culture, Hunger and Violence. This study uses qualitative approach. The result of the study shows the dominant concept depicted in the novel, That is the Violence concept. The existence of Beauty Myth gives some negative impacts that the characters have to suffer in the novel. Keywords: Feminism, Beauty Myth, Naomi Wolf, Uglies
