Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the jargon terms used by the flight attendant in Flight Industry. The terms selectedwere related in Flight Industry. The study referred to the theory of Yule (2006).Those jargon terms are indicated through some forms of expressions which are elaborated into distinguished categories of lexical differences.The data analysis focussed on identifying and explaining the obscure meanings of the jargon terms used by flight attendant in Flight Industry.Whereas, the method used in this research was a descriptive qualitative method which presentedthe data analysis from the interview and documents into the form of sentences.From the result of the study analysis, 40terms of jargon were found in Flight Industry, such as Ambulatory, Cabin, Cockpit, Divert, and Landing. In which the most dominant of the lexical types was noun forms. Keywords : Linguistics - Sociolinguistics - Variety of language –Lexical jargon - Flight Industry.
