Abstract

This thesis entitled “Abnormal Behavior of the Main Character Depicted in the Black Cat Short Story”. The aim of the study is to analyze the aspects of abnormal behavior which describes the characteristic and personality of the husband character in the black cat short story. Both terms are determined as factors which tell the context of specified characteristics which are evident from the subject of the analysis. The writer used qualitative approach to analyze the data. The writer used unconscious theory by using Sigmund Freud’s to divine which line of the abnormal behavior that shows the Id, Ego and Superego which cause the abnormal behavior. Therefore the result of the analysis shows that the abnormal behavior of the husband character mostly causes by the Id. Keywords: Abnormal behavior, Characteristics, Unconscious
