Abstract

This thesis is a case study. The objective of this study is to describe how the process of teaching reading narrative text at second grade junior high school of SMP Islam Al-Ghozali Gunung Sindur. The subject of this study were 33 students of class VIII-1 at SMP Islam Al-Ghozali Gunung Sindur. Her study used qualitative method and the data were obtained through observation, interview, questionaire and reading test. The data were in the form of field notes, interview transcript,students' questionaire and the result of students' reading test. In this study the writer only focused on the use of approach and strategy in teaching reading narrative text using Task-Based Language Teaching approach in SMP Islam Al-Ghozali Gunung Sindur. The Result of the study shows students interesting of the learning process of reading. the students' score were satisfying from average of 91. It can be concluded that teaching reading narrative text using Task-Based Language Teacing was reccomended.
