Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mechanical strength of Stainless steel 316 steel after the Heat treatment process at a temperature of 1050°C and Tempering with variations in the temperature of 200°C, 300°C and 400°C. The results of testing Rockwell hardness after the Heat treatment process at a temperature of 1050 ° C can increase the hardness of steel from 25.3 HRC to 26.3 HRC. In the Tempering process with variations in temperature of 200°C, 300°C and 400°C there was an increase in hardness, the highest hardness value in the specimen after the Tempering process at 400°C with a value of 21.3 HRC and the lowest at 200° C with a value 18.6 HRC. The Impact test results showed that the energy value produced without the Heat treatment process was 105.56 Joule and Impact strength of 1.172 Joule / mm², after the Heat treatment process at 1050°C with a value of 104.42 Joule and Impact strength of 1.162 Joule / mm² , in the Tempering process temperature of 200°C with a value of 107.75 Joules and Impact strength of 1,228 Joule / mm², at a temperature of 300°C with a value of 104.91 Joules and Impact strength of 1.165 Joule / mm² and at a temperature of 400°C with a value 105.42 Joules and Impact strength of 1.171 Joules / mm².
