Abstract
This study is about social class that is represented in 12 Years a Slave. The objective of the study is specifically to see how social class differences are represented in 12 Years a Slave and how the economic condition affected each character’s action and behaviour. This study uses descriptive qualitative based on theory of Karl Marx (1969). The anaysis shown there are two kinds of social classes; Bourgeoisie and Proletariat, and some particular economic condition could affected someone’s action and behaviour. By seeing the film, it can give the reader more knowledge about historical background of social conflict and social struggle since the film itself took place during the 1800’s era.
