Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discuss the types of borrowing words, and how the mechanism process in forming the new words in “The Order of Phoenix” film. This study showed the readers the analysis of the study concerning the types of the borrowing words and the mechanism in forming the new word by comparing the usage and the words origin. “The Order of Phoenix” by J. K. Rowling was chosen as the data for the object of the study. Qualitative method was used in this study, to help both the writer and the readers to find the finding of the analysis; with expectation the readers can know the origin of each word. The theories about borrowing words and etymology from Durkin (2009) were used, and Merriam Webster dictionary in analyzing the meaning of the words which were used nowadays. As the result of the study, it can be stated that the types of the borrowing words were found in “The Order of Phoenix” Film.
