Abstract

This study entitled “Psychological Analysis in Alice Sebold’s The Lovely Bones Novel” aims to examine the psychopathic factors and the cause and effects on the character of George Harvey. The research methodology used in this study was the qualitative method by analyzing the data from the dialogues in the novel. To complete the study, the research has been analyzed using Psychoanalysis theory by Sigmund Freud (1923) and the concept of Psychopathy Checklist-Revised by Hare (1991, 2003). The result of the study, it was found the psychopathy factors on the George Harvey character and its cause has impact the behavior of George Harvey character through his life. Furthermore, it is hoped that this study could give benefit for the students of English department. Key Word: Literature, Psychological Analysis, Personality Disorder, Psychopathy.
