Abstract

This Study is aimed at identifying types of Presupposition and to describe the posibble meanings in “ The Twelve Candles Club” Novel. This study used Presupposition theory by Yule (1996). Yule (1996) classifies the presupposition into six types. They are Existential presupposition, Factive presupposition, Structural presupposition, Lexical presupposition, Non- factive presupposition and Counter factual presupposition. In analyzing the study, the writer used qualitative approach. It is found 36 data 18 of Existential presupposition, 2 of factive presupposition, 7 of lexical presupposition, 6 of Structural presupposition, 2 of Non- factive presupposition, and 1 of Counter factual presupposition. Existential presupposition is the dominant types that used in “the twelve candles club” novel. Keywords: presupposition types, presupposition analysis, presupposition.
