Abstract

The objective of this study was to find out whether or not teaching speaking through quantum teaching method can improve students` speaking skill at VIII grade of MTs Darunnaim YAPIA Parung. The design of this study was quasi-experimental design. It consisted of control and experiment group. The number of the students was 40, there were 20 students each class.This study conducted pre-test, treatments using quantum teaching, and post-test. In the pre-test and post test, the writer gave test to both classes with the same instrument. After the data had been collected by test, it was found that the pre-test average of the experimental and control class was higher than t-table. And the average of experimental class was higher than control class. It was meant Quantum Teaching was effective method in improving students’ speaking skill at the VIII grade students of MTs Darunnaim YAPIA Parung in the academic year of 2016/2017.
