Abstract
The main character is a character that has an important role in a story. In presenting the characters personality can be attributed to an emotion, because the characters shown in the literature have particular characters and emotional turmoil. The emotional turmoil experienced by the main character in a story is a reflection of the attitudes and behavior of human being. The aim of this study is to analyze the structuralism through the emotional character in Inside Out film and to find the meaning of those symbols using the theory of Roland Barthes structuralism and his five codes. The writer used the scene from the Inside Out film as the data collection. The method used on this study is qualitative approach by describing and analyzing the meanings from the symbols that are shown in emotional character in the story. The result of this study, the writer found there are five emotional characters in Inside Out film, they are Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger.
