Abstract

This paper is entitled Psychoanalysis of the Main Female Character in Gillian Flynn‟s Novel “Gone Girl”. The data of the analysis were taken from Gone Girl novel written by Gillian Flynn. This paper was basically to answer a question concerning psychological problem of the main female character in the novel using psychological perspective. This study was mainly aimed at finding psychological disorder suffered by the main female character depends on psychoanalysis theory. This study applied qualitative research method and used both Sigmund Freud and Robert S. Feldman‟s theories. The method used in collecting the data was the library research. There were some steps in analyzing the data. After the data were collected and identified, the data were rewritten and classified according to their types. Finally, the data were analyzed descriptively using the theory of psychoanalysis. The result of this study found three psychological disorders suffered by the main female character – Antisocial Personality Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
