Abstract

Thepurposeofthisstudyistodescribe and explain thepowerrelation andtheeffects occurinthestoryofOrwell'sAnimal Farm novel firstly published in 1945 which are animal characters astherepresentativeofthepeopleinasociety.Thisstudyfocusedon power relationsbetweenMr.Jones as representative ofa tyranny rulerandhisanimals as representative ofhispeopleandbetweenpigsasthe representative ofleaderand other animalsas representative oftheir people.Thisstudyusedaqualitativemethodand thedatasourcesweretakenfrom thenarrativesandthedialogues.Itappliesthe theoryofsubjectandpowerbyMichelFoucault(1982).Theresultofthisstudy showsthatpowercanbeusedtocontrolothersandmakes them obeying and doing whatthe someone wants.
