Abstract

This study aimed at explaining the elements of postcolonial and influences of education of identity and culture of Englsihon Half of a Yellow Sun novel by ChimamandaNgoziAdichie. The writer used Homi K. Bhabha theory to analyze the elements of postcolonial especially hybridity. The descriptive-qualitative method was used to analyze the data on Half of a Yellow Sun novel. Several steps were done in analyzing the data repeatedly and carefully to find the hybridity related to the main characters. As the result, it is stated that element found in this research was hybridity that influences the colonial educations and languages in various fields. This factor occurs because of the British colonial process against the Igbo nation. Keywords: colonial, postcolonial, hybridity, novel.
