Abstract

Islamic scripture is a finest literary artwork which consists of the greatest amount of communicative illustration of God verbal expressions. These expressions cover most principle of life that must be performed by humans. However, most of them are transcribed in highest particular system of scripts which require deeper consideration to comprehend them. This study aims at revealing the underlying meaning of the expression of “The Opening” and “Maryam” in the most satisfactory approach to enable human in applying those principles in life. Two potential theories are taken into consideration to expose the deepest understanding of the verses in the scripture. These are Yule (1996) and Sperber and Wilson (2012) theories. The qualitative descriptive method has also taken into account to support the application of both theories. The result of the study indicates that these verses were arranged in the most sophisticated way to provide more accentuation to the verses’ meaning. In conclusion, the apprehension of the scripture is possible to be revealed using the most conceivable approach. Keyword: Scripture, two potential theories, The Opening, Maryam
