Abstract

This study aims at analysing social differences issues in Andrew Nicool’s In Time film based on Marxism analysis. Social classes in In Time movie are divided into two groups there are Bourgeoisie and Proletariat. The writer used qualitative method and the theory from Karl Marx (1977). From the data analysis it was found that there are any differences between people who live in New Greenwich and Dayton, and how the economic condition influenced them. Marxism also gives effects to the society. The gap between the poor and the rich become bigger, so this condition led to the domination of the bourgeoisie toward the proletariat. The situation led to the poor to do revenge toward the bourgeoisie. This imbalance impacts to the injustice between dominant class and dominated class in society and make separation between both them. Keywords : In Time Film, Bourgeoisie, Proletariat, Marxist Criticism , Effects of Marxism
