Abstract

The aim of this study is to know the use of characterization in Diary of A Wimpy Kid film. For this reason the author decided to choose major character in filmwith the aim of describing the characters development. The first step was to analyze the plot of the story. The second step, the writer analyzed using chorpus and dialogue to identify the major character. The results of the analysis show that Greg has many characteristicsto be identified. Greg as the major character of Diary of A Wimpy Kid film tells about an ambitiousboy who wants to exist in his school.He is not the most popular kid in school, but his desire is to become the most popular kid in school no matter what.There are manymoral values in this comedyfilm.Many films are based on novels such as this film. However, each of them uses different ways to tell the similar stories. The paper discusses the characterization from several aspects in terms of Greg’s character, ways of narration, as well as the effect from Greg’s life brings about.
