Abstract

This study aimed at analyzing borrowing words used in TangselPos daily newspaper. It analyzed the borrowing words found and types of borrowing word which was found in TangselPos daily newspaper especially sport articles. Durkin (2011) states that borrowing word is the process of adopting word from another language and it called the donor language. Durkin also states that t here are four types of borrowing word such as loanword, loan translation, semantic loan and loan blend. This study used qualitative method to find the data finding and the analysis. The result of the study, it showed that the types of borrowing words, there are 58 words of borrowing words consist of 6 words are loanword, 47 words are loan translation and 5 words are loan blend in TangselPos daily newspaper especially sport articles.
