Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the translation procedures in “Theodore Boone : Kid Lawyer” novel by John Grisham. This study analyzed the types of translation procedures, the most frequently translation procedure and how the translation procedures are applied from English version to Indonesian version. The writer uses qualitative method. The writer uses Jean-Paul Vinay and Jean Darbelnet theory (2004) on translation procedures. This theory is divided into two types, namely: Direct Translation and Oblique translation. The result of this study shows that from 7 (seven) types of translation procedures, there are only 3 (three) types of translation procedures that were found in the data analysis. They are: transposition, modulation, and adaptation. Modulation is the most dominant types of translation procedures that occur in the analyze data.
