Abstract
This study is entitled “Wanda Vision: Power Relations and Power Resistance.” This study analyzed the portrayal of power relations and resistance in the TV series Wanda Vision, focusing on how these dynamics were depicted through the characters and their actions. The main objectives were to analyze how power was represented in the series and how the protagonist, Wanda Maximoff, resisted it. Using Michel Foucault’s theory on power relations and resistance, this study examined the interactions. The study utilized a qualitative descriptive method under the theory of Michel Foucault’s theory about power relation and power resistance. The findings showed that Wanda Vision illustrated power relations through Wanda's creation of the Hex, where she exercised almost total control over the town's residents by manipulating their physical and mental realities. As the story unfolded, Wanda herself eventually joined this resistance, realizing the ethical consequences of her actions and choosing to dismantle the Hex, thereby freeing the town and its people from her control. This portrayed a complex interplay of power and resistance, where control was met with both external and internal opposition.
