Abstract

The study is aimed at designing syllabus materials for English speaking for staff at Fave hotel Puri Indah Jakarta. This study was carried out by conducting questionnaires, field notes, and interview techniques. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis. In conducting to study there are some important element, such as conducting need analysis, writing the course grid writing the outline of the syllabus and the methodology applied.Need analysis was conducted to find out their level coficiency and the problem that are face by the employee in speaking skill.The findings of this study are important to thehotel industries, educational institutes, students, and hotel management.Finally, it is found that the syllabus and materials design are proper to be applied in teaching speaking to the hotel staff becouse it had an appropriate syllabus in EOP (English for Occupational Purpose) Key words : Syllabus Design, Need Analysis, Employee.
