Abstract

The study is entitled "Identity Crisis in Thor: Ragnarok (2017)," and it discusses the identity crisis experienced by the main character, Thor. The study's object is the movie Thor: Ragnarok, which aims to analyze Thor's identity crisis and how he overcomes it. The story follows Thor as he grapples with his identity due to external changes and challenges, ultimately resolving his crisis through exploration and achieving a stable identity. A qualitative method is used, focusing on analyzing data from the film through essays and images. The theoretical framework is based on Marcia's (1966) theory of identity crisis, which includes stages such as identity diffusion and identity achievement. The results indicate that Thor's identity crisis stems from environmental challenges and his dual roles, leading to confusion and, eventually, resolution through exploration and self-acceptance.
