Abstract

The purposes of this study are to analyze the portrayal of power relations and find out how the main character deals with power relations that occurs in the novel People Like Them (2021). The theory used in this study is the theory of Power to understand and criticize power relations from Michel Focault (2002). The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative because this study is analyzed using narrative elements. The results show that the power relations experienced by the main character. In addition the main character deals with power relations by resistance.
