Abstract

This study aims to find the form and the meaning of jargons that are used in the utterances of Neo HOTS (Home Online Trading System) Mobile app. The theory applied in this study is Halligan theory. The Halligan theory is used in analyzing the forms of jargon. This study uses qualitative approach and focuses on the utterances of jargon in Neo HOTS Mobile app. From the data analysis, there are 3 types of jargon used by Neo HOTS Mobile app. Those are words, phrases and abbreviations. Furthermore, there were 2 meaning found in the jargon of this app. Based on the semantic analysis, the meaning was divided into connotative and denotative meanings.
