Abstract
The objective of this study was to identify the kinds of illocutionary acts found in animated western movie entitled ―Toy Story 4'.This study focused only on Woody’s utterances as the main character of the movie. Data of this research were in the form of utterances containing illocutionary acts used by the main character in the movie script. To analze the data, this qualitative study used the theory of Yule (1996). The result showed that there were 5 types of illocutinary act found in the movie script, namely assertive, directives, commisive, expressive, and declarative. In addition, it was found that assertives was the most dominant used which is 52%. Finally, it concluded that Woody used assertives because he wanted to tell the situation and know what happened in his speech.
