Abstract

The aim of the study is to analyze the social class struggle and results by implied social class through three selected children books that represented in three picture books of Dr. Seuss entitled The Bartholomew and the Oobleck (1945), The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins (1938) and The King’s Stilts (1939). The main characters are used in the picture books as the representation of human beings. Eric as the worker that struggling in social class. Besides that, the data were analyzed through texts and pictures by using a qualitative approach. In order to conduct the study, the writer used Marxist theory of social class struggle. The resultsof the study show that Eric as a worker that struggling in their environment and resistance in social class. There are consists of 5 social class struggle in real life, 12 social class struggle in working environment and 6 resistances in real life, 7 resistances in working environment.
