Abstract
This study aims to find the improvement’s in the students' writing descriptive text using picture series at SDIT Al-Lauzah Tangerang Selatan. This study is entitled "The Used Of Picture Series To Improve Students Writing Descriptive Text At The Fourth Grade Of SDIT Al-Lauzah Tangerang Selatan." This study uses a qualitative descriptive and used Wright (1989) theory. This study implemented class action research (CAR) by Kemmis and McTaggart (2010). The result showed that picture series could improve writing descriptive text in class 4 Uwais 1 at SDIT Al-Lauzah Tangerang Selatan. It can be seen, in the pre-test, out of 11 students in the class, only one student got score 70 out of 100, and the minor score was 44 out of 100, with a mean of 60,1 in total. In the post-test cycle 1, out of 11 students in the class, five students got score upper 70 out of 100, and the minor score was 41 out of 100, with a mean of 68 in total. In the post-test cycle 2, out of 11 students in the class, five students got score upper 80 out of 100, and three students got score upper 70 out of 100, with a mean of 74,54. It can be seen in that there is an increase in their writing descriptive text. The mean score of the pre-test is 60,1, post-test 1 is 68, and post-test two is 74,54. The conclusion, picture series can motivated the students to improve writing descriptive text. Keyword : picture series, descriptive text, Classroom action research
