Abstract
This study aims to reveal the oppression of women with the object of research entitled The Idol (2023), directed by Sam Levinson which totals five episodes. This research uses qualitative methods and is analyzed using the theory of feminism by Young in his book entitled "Justice and the Politics of Difference" (1990). This research categorizes the types of oppression experienced by female characters and how the female characters deal with the oppression that occurs to them. In this study, four of five types of oppression were found in this series, such as violence, exploitation, marginalization, and powerlessness. furthermore, after going through oppressed, the female characters resist oppression in various ways. It can be concluded that women in this series experience oppression and try to overcome it. Keywords: feminism, women, oppression, violence, exploitation, marginalization, powerlessness.
