Abstract

This study aims to uncover the issue of injustices, discrimination, and racial stigma faced by the main character, a Japanese American, graphic novel entitled They Called Us Enemy (2019) by George Takei. Moreover, this research reveals in the way of the protagonist’s dealing with the aforementioned issue’s. The object of this study is the concept of racial discrimination-( Delgado and Stefancic, 1999) which indentifies racial issue and how the race can effect and impact were applied in this study. This study applies descriptive qualitative approach. The findings indicate that there are two essential parts that can be concluded from this study. First, the protagonists face several challenges while experiencing racial discrimination. Second, the way the main character stands against and deals with the issue’s of racism.
