Abstract
This study aims to find out the forms of code-mixing and the motives of code�mixing that consisted in Boy William’s Youtube video entitled ‘Nebengboy Season 2 Eps 5 ( pilihan Najwa shihab tentang presiden 2019) segment’’ the method used in this study was descriptive qualitative. This study analyzed the transcript of the video by using Thelander’s in (Suwito, 1983) theory about Forms of code-mixing and Hoffmann’s theory about the Motives of code-mixing. The result of this study presented the six forms of code mixing, namely word, phrase, clause, idiom, hybrid, and word reduplication showed in Boy William’s Youtube video entitled ‘Nebengboy Season 2 Eps 5 ( pilihan Najwa shihab tentang presiden 2019) segment’’. There are also seven motives of code mixing usage in Boy William’s Youtube video entitled ‘Nebengboy Season 2 Eps 5 ( pilihan Najwa shihab tentang presiden 2019) segment’’ namely talking about particular topic, quoting somebody else, being emphatic about something, interjection, repetition used for clarification, expressing group identity, clarifying the speech content for the interlocutor.
