Abstract

This study aims to analyze the meaning of signs found in the music video "Idol" by BTS (2018). The research method applied in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach consistent with identifying and analyzing some observations through the music video. This study uses semiotic by Barthes's (1977) theory to discover and analyze. The result showed that from an official YouTube account, namely "HYBE Labels" This study found that 31 signs have the meaning implied by BTS to show the song lyrics and pictures that describe the denotations and connotations about Love yourself.
