Abstract

This study analyzes the Linguistic Landscape in an Islamic school in the Ciledug area, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al Husna Rahmat. This study describes the types of signs linguistic landscape and the diversity of language in signs at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al Husna Rahmat. This study uses qualitative. There are 76 sign images that can be taken for this research data. This study uses the theory of Landry & Bourhis (1997) and Gibson (2009). This study shows that the type of sign that is used the most in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al Husna Rahmat is the identification sign which has as many as 31 items. In addition, the most dominant language in the sign is Indonesian (69%). Then, apart from that, the sign contained Indonesian (69%), English (19%), and Arabic (12%). There are advantages to be gained from using the language used in the sign, namely learning foreign languages such as English and Arabic. In addition, school members can use it as a learning medium in several categories.
