Abstract

This study analyzes the class conflict of some characters in the Free Food for Millionaires novel by Min Jin Lee. In order to guide this study, the writer uses the Marxism Criticism theory. One of the novels that reflects the theory is “Free Food of Millionaires” by Min Jin Lee. This novel tells about the class conflict faced by some Korean immigrant characters. The research methodology used in this study was qualitative method. By using this method, it means a qualitative approach is used to describe the social phenomenon, life experiences, situations, and feelings of people in the form of an essay. After analyzing the data, the writer found that there are two social classes which are Upper Class and Middle Class. Each social class is represented by different characters. The writer also found class conflict in this novel. The cause of class conflict in this novel is mostly about economic differences and ethnic differences.
