Abstract

This study aims to explain about code mixing that is used by the speakers in “GantengGantengSerigala” serial and described about types and functions of code mixing in dialogues that the speakers use in utterance. The writer uses qualitative mothod to analyze data in “GantengGantengSrigala” serial and the theory that is used by the author in conducting this study is theory of Saville-Troike to analyze types of code mixing, whereas Pieter Muysken theory is to analyze the functions. There are 21 dialogue expressions that the writer collected to identify types and functions of code mixing. From three types of Muysken, the writer found two types in the film that would be analyzed; they are Insertion and Alternation. There are 15 data as Insertion and 6 data as Alternation are analyzed by the writer refers to the speaker in utterances in the film.And the Functions of code mixing, the writer used theory from Saville which the writer used to identify data in the Tv Srial, there are Expressive (Conveying feelings or emotions), Directive (Requesting or demanding), Referential (True or False Prepositional Content), Poetic (Aesthetic), Phatic (Empathy and Solidarity), and Metalinguistic (Reference to Language itself).
