Abstract
The purposes of our community service activities were to provide training on English competition for Jampang English Village (JEV) students and to enhance their knowledge and understanding in practicing English storytelling, reading poetry, and giving speech in English. Moreover, this competition was also used to know more their English abilities and to find out what they had learned so far. The participants of this project were the students of JEV in Bogor. Total Physical Response (TPR) was applied in this method through giving the strategies; how they correctly used their body language when facing English competition, how to pronounce well each word, and how to interact with the audience while standing in front of the stage. The Community Service started from the preparation stage, namely observation and socialization, while for the implementation from the presentation of material, practice, reflection, and evaluation. The results of the activities were the contestants from each level of competition comprehend the techniques of English training related to poetry, short story, and speech, improvement of their speaking skill and well pronounce each word
