Abstract
One of keys to successful speech is an ability to put chuncking and pausing within every sentence in order to improve speakers’ intelligibility as well as to attract audience’s attention. This is a community service report aiming at revealing the training activities that focused on practising the students’ speech performances especially in chuncking and pausing. 40 students of Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren Nurul Qur’an Ciseeng, Bogor welcomed and engaged the overall training delivered by 5 trainers held in 3 days in the school. Using observation and interview techniques, it is revealed that the community service was fruitful in proliferating the practise of chuncking and pausing so that the students’ speech performances sound more natural. This naturalness improves their intelligibility and attracts audience to attention to the students’ speech performances
