abstract: This study attempts to analyze the psychopathic personality disorderof the main character in Overheard in a Dream novel. The analysis focused on the symptoms, causes and effect experienced by the main character. Psychopathic personality disorder is one of the psychological issues that is often overlooked in society, but actually a very common case. Anyone could experience and develop foul traits once they had unresolved issues in the past. Psychopathic personality disorder in Overheard in a Dream is analyzed based on psychoanalysis theory and supported by the symptoms of psychopathic personality by Martin Kantor (2006). Qualitative approach is used in conducting this study, also the data and result were presented in the form of essay. The findings indicate that the main character in Overheard in a Dream experiences the psychopathic personality disorder in which the main character’s action affected the family.
