Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the film entitled Insatiable focusing on the domain of Work, Culture, Sex, and Hunger as the partial concept of Naomi Wolf’s Beauty Myth (1990). The analysis was conducted by applying the qualitative research that basically interprets the narrative devices and cinematography of the film. The narrative devices refer to the main character and the theme, while the cinematography relates to shot, sounds, and light. The results of the study showed that in each domain of the beauty myth the main character, Patty, experienced the impacts of the myths in losing her dignity, individual freedom, and humanity apart from her fame and ambition fulfillment.
