Abstract

This study entitled “An Analysis On Maxim of Cooperative Principle Violation In The Walking Dead Movie Series Script”. The aim of this study analyze the form of maxim of cooperative principle violation on conversation in The Walking Dead Movie Script. The method used in this research is qualitative method. The writer used theory from Paul Grice (1975) to analyze the issue. The data analysis technique in this study is carry out through steps, namely, identify the dialogs, mark and highlight the data, and classify the data in table form. From the data analysis is found that there are 30 violations of the principle of conversation cooperation with details, consists of 14 violations of maxim quantity, 13 violations of maxim relevance and 1 violation of maxim manner, and for maxim quality 2 violations.
