Abstract

The research entitled “Anxiety Disorder in “Water By TheSpoonful” Drama Script By Quiara Alegria Hudes” aims to identify how the anxiety disorder is described by the main character, Elliot Ortiz in the drama script “Water by The Spoonful”. The purpose of this study is to analyze anxiety disorder experienced by the main character. This analysis focuses on the types, causes and effect of anxiety disorder experienced by the main character. The theories used in analyzing the data are the theory of id, ego and superego from Sigmund Freud (2010) and the theory about the types of anxiety disorder from Anthony and Swinson (1996). From the data analysis it is found that the main character suffers from two anxiety disorder, namely post-traumatic stress disorder and generalized anxiety disorder.
