Abstract

This study discusses the process of teaching reading using Think Pair Share Technique to develop the Students’ Reading Comprehension Using Descriptive Text. The purpose of this study is to find out the activities and the materials used in teaching reading using Think Pair Share technique on eight grade of MTS AL-ITTIHADIYAH-Cisengg-Bogor and to analyze the results of teaching reading using Think Pair Share technique. To obtain accurate data, this study uses a qualitative approach; it means that the information was taken from the observation, interview, and questionnaire. The theory used in conducting the theory of Frank Lyman to analyze the Think Pair share Technique. The material given by the teacher enjoys and interesting. The activities are given to the student used to practice. The result of the students’ score was very satisfying. Therefore, it can be concluded that teaching reading through Think Pair Share technique to develop the students’ reading comprehension using descriptive text was good.
