Abstract

This study entitled “ANALYSIS OF THE MAIN CHARACTER IN “ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND” FILM BY USING CINEMATIC TECHNIQUES APPROACH” conducted using qualitative descriptive approach analysis of cinematography. The goal of this study is to analyze and describe the affect of using cinematic techniques toward the main character’s feeling in the film. In analyzing this study, the theory of Maria Pramaggiore & Tom Wallis is used. This theory explains how the cinematic techniques affect the visual object, especially the character in the film. The result of this study answered two issues, the first one is revealed the main character’s feeling in cinematic technique including lighting, sound, and framing. The second one is portrayed the partner affecting the main character’s feeling with cinematic techniques. Besides, cinematic techniques are needed in a film making to create differences in a visual image to attract the audience. Keywords: Cinematography, Cinematic Technique, Character.
