Abstract

This thesis is entitled “The Use of Herringbone Technique in Improving The Students’ Reading Comprehension in Narrative Texts.” The purpopse of this study is to analyze the use of Herringbone technique in improving the students’ reading comprehension at SMA PGRI 83 Legok-Tangerang. The approach of this study used qualitative method. Herringbone is one of the effective techniques to improve the students reading comprehension. The data of the study were gathered through the following instruments observation, students tasks, reading test and interview the teaacher. The finding of the study indicated that Herringbone Technique was effective in attractive the students’ motivation and participate. The result showed that there are 11 (38%) students got A (Excellent)score, and 18 (62%) students got B (Very Good) score. Most of the students got B (Very Good) score. The observation of result showed that the students were more attractive and participate in reading material. Based on the interview the result show that the students’ reading comprehension in narrative texts using Herringbone Technique was successfully.
