Abstract

The title of this study is “Social Class Analysis in Pride and Prejudice Novel By Jane Austen”. This study was aimed at analysis social class found in Pride and Prejudice. The approach of this study was qualitative research as the data source was analyzed in the form of sentences and paragraph. This study used the theory from Karl Mark (1969) to identify the social class in the novel. The result of this study showed that there are two social classes found in the study namely upper class and lower class. The upper class is characterized by Darcy whereas the lower class is characterized by Elizabeth. Key words: Social class, lower, higher class, Residence, Education.
