Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the activities of teaching listening using song lyrics through Audio-Lingual method, to find out the materials used in learning process in the classroom, to analyze the result of doing this learning process by using song lyrics through Audio-Lingual method in the second grade students of SMA Islam Assa’adah, Setu, Tangerang Selatan. The approach that was used in this study is qualitative approach and also by conducting observation, interviewing the English teacher and giving questionnaree to the students. Through qualitative approach, the data of observation, interviewimg the English teacher and questionnares are using descriptive analysis. This study found that the listening activity was done by English teacher and the students at SMA Islam Assa’adah, Setu, Tangerang Selatan. It showed the students interest to listening activity. The use of song lyrics can motivate students and make them interested in learning English. As the result of the learning process is improvement of students interest, motivation, and score for the English test. Keyword : Teaching listening, Song Lyrics, Audio-Lingual method
