Abstract

This study deals with increasing adult learners’ vocabulary through The Sims 4 using CALL. The purposes of this study are to figure out materials of increasing adult learners’ vocabulary through The Sims 4 video game using Computer-Assisted Language Learning, to describe activities of increasing adult learners’ vocabulary through The Sims 4 video game using Computer-Assisted Language Learning, and to find out the result of increasing adult learners’ vocabulary through The Sims 4 video game using Computer-Assisted Language Learning. This study uses qualitative method because the analysis taken from the observation, pre-post test, self-control report checklist, and the questionnaires were analyzed in the for of essays. It was found that the materials activities, and the result of increasing adult learners’ vocabulary through The Sims 4 using CALL was capable to increase vocabulary of the adult learners . Key words: Teaching vocabulary, adult learners, Life simulation, video game, The Sims 4, result, qualitative, Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), vocabulary pre-post test, self-reported checklist of playing game, and questionnaire.
